An Unexpected Opportunity

Shortly after graduation I was offered a job at TCAH - Texas Connections Academy@Houston as a High School ASL Teacher. After a lengthy onboarding process I became an online Adjunct Teacher. I started with about 150 students and ended up with 341 per semester at the peak of my last semester there. I had the chance to work with some great LOTE teachers and some very caring administrators. I admire the cheerful and friendly environment created in that onlline work environment. I was able to attend online PLC meetings and collaborate with teachers of several other languages. The staff were always polite, warm, and genuinely helpful. I enjoyed setting my LIVE LESSONS (Zoom Meetings with students) and the enthusiastic participation. Connecting online certainly makes one more aware of the impact that verbage has on the reader. Overall, I had a very positive experience!
