Greetings classmates, This e-portfolio endeavor has been an in-depth learning experience so far! I have learned an OVERWHELMING amount of information and I am still processing it. I feel that the COVA model has allowed/forced/provided me the opportunity to truly develop my Growth Mindset during this class. The most valuable thing I have learned so far, is that I can, and have immediately begun to use what I have learned in Digital Technology! The COVID 19 pandemic has forced teachers into the digital realm in a matter of weeks, or even days, for some. As we transition to socially safe online "At Home Learning" for students, it is also an authentic learning experience for the teachers. I have spent far more time trying to work out details and find ways to make my student assignments meaningful than I have evidence to show. I have no doubt that I have become far more digitally aware. I feel like my "Why" for taking Digital Learning is now fully evident as we move forward into our new Online Learning and Living era. It is imperative that I must learn if I am to teach others! Connection, collaboration, gleaning, and sharing of knowledge is the way of our online adventure, as we press on into uncharted territory with our students. I never imagined that I would only see my students online! What if my next year's students only meet me via my ePortfolio? Will their education be successful if we only see each other virtually? If we are to be great teachers we have to know our "why" and others will be motivated to follow us, as we move forward with passion. Have you found your "Why?" As I develop my ePortfolio, I see how important it is that my voice is evident , my choices reflect who I am, and that as I take ownership of my learning, it resonates with others because I have experienced authentic learning. I knew nothing about an ePortfolio prior to this class. Now, I am in the process of presenting myself, digitally, to the world. Am I ready ? NOT YET! But then again, who is? Let's charge forward into this new, unprecedented era, with passion and confidence. Boldly, ready to learn from our mistakes, brush ourselves off when we fail, and continue into the vast unknown!
