As a student coming out of EDLD 5302, I was wondering when and for how long I would use my ePortfolio. Having looked ahead in the last class, it appeared that we would need to use it during our time in the DLL program. As a result, I went ahead and purchased 2 years with WIX.

The information and chart from Dr. Harapnuik : http://www.harapnuik.org/?p=6322 below, were informative and helped me understand that it is an ongoing process to keep my ePortfolio updated:

I can definitely relate to the time and management aspects of the ePortfolio being deterrents to its' continued use.

After reading this section on getting started, I feel like I now have a clearer understanding of how and why I will use my ePortfolio. Forever! I am thankful that we have the opportunity to continue our ePortfolio in EDLD 5302. What a relief!

My first thought about working with a group was a feeling of uncertainty. Once I met my group and we chatted, I became excited and interested. It is a bit like a security net to know that I have peers to collaborate with, that I can reach out to for help, that share my common class goals. One of my favorite videos in this week's assignment was: Why it's time to forget the pecking order at work (15:47) Published by: TED Talks Added: June 16, 2015 YouTube URL: https://youtu.be/Vyn_xLrtZaY

One of the High Achieving Groups & Most Successful Teams mentioned, had 3 characteristics:

  1. Empathy for each other

  2. Gave equal time to each member

  3. Had more women!

This video helped me to understand how important a culture of HELPFULNESS is in a work/team environment. Our social connectedness to each other matters! Social Capital is imperative to the momentum and financial success of companies . Simply connecting with people at work provides the opportunity to build relationships, trust, creativity and challenge each other's ideas.

By getting started with a Peer Review group, gaining knowledge as I go, adopting a Growth Mindset, incorporating CSLE + COVA information into my blogs and teaching life, I hope to have a worthy and credible ePortfolio to present to a future employer. A "living document" that reflects my learning, connections, experience, and skills.
