Greetings,
My name is Cynthia Boothe. I live in Longview, Tx and teach high school in Hallsville, TX, nearby. I have 3 kiddos (grown now!) and 3 grand-babies. I enjoy spending time with my family and being outdoors. I teach ASL -American Sign Language and I am a SEE -Signing Exact English Interpreter, part-time. My college age son is deaf, so that is why I learned sign language.
I incorporate technology into the ASL program at my school, on our Chromebooks. I hope to learn things to enhance my teaching abilities along with "keeping up with technology". Eventually, I would like to teach at the college level, a virtual school, or obtain a different job at a higher pay rate. Several of the jobs I have been interested in require a Master's Degree. So, here I am !
I feel that it is important to keep myself and my students abreast of current technology trends, ideas, resources, and job opportunities. The thought of creating an online class for ASL has crossed my mind, and this degree will be beneficial in educating me, with that idea in mind.
I am looking forward to learning new things and growing as a teacher and as a student!
Thank you,
