Considering all that I have learned from my DLL program, I would say that the future looks very promising! One significant change that has made a huge impact is that I have learned that all is not lost, ruined, or hopeless when a mistake is made. Growth can and should occur.
Making connections with others has been beneficial in the DLL program as well as my job as a teacher. We need each other! Collaboration relieves pressure, clears up confusion, provides camaraderie, broadens our perspective, and allows us the privilege of sharing our knowledge with each other. We have access to the database of our fellow collaborators when we choose to connect.
I have initiated my ePortfolio plan presentation and will put it into action in the next month, with my students! I have connected with our new district Digital Technology Specialist and enlisted her help for my project, AND my new principal is onboard! After presenting my ePortfolio project, my prinicpal asked if I was on the new Technology Team at our school, and suggested I look into it! The power of communication at work is evident.
I am excited to use the leadership skills I have learned to teach others, make a change in my district, and impact the lives & futures of my students. I love the district I work in and hope to move into a new technology role next year. (The job does not exist yet, but it will soon!) I am so thankful for the skills I've learned, friendships that have been formed, and the doors that have opened because of the DLL program. I will continue to learn and move forward with my technology plan. It has been a challenging yet rewarding journey!
While I graduate tomorrow, I know that my learning journey will never really end...
